Vaporesso COREX 2.0 vs COREX 3.0
What’s changed and is it worth upgrading
If you use a Vaporesso XROS device, you’ve likely come across the COREX 2.0 pods on the Make My Vape website and now the newer COREX 3.0 pods. At a glance, they look the same. Same pod design, same resistances, same compatibility. Both versions work across the full XROS range, support Nicotine Salts and Freebase e-liquid and can be swapped without changing your device.
But internally, COREX 3.0 is a clear upgrade.
COREX 2.0 already improved things compared to the original XROS pods. It delivered better flavour, more consistent heating, and improved cotton for wicking. For most users, it was a solid, reliable option. However, it still had limits in flavour depth, smoothness, and overall lifespan.
COREX 3.0 builds on that foundation and fixes those weak points properly. Vaporesso redesigned the internal structure, starting with a new Hive Mesh coil. This honeycomb style mesh increases the heating surface and distributes heat more evenly, resulting in stronger flavour and fewer burnt hits. Alongside this, the airflow system has been refined to deliver a smoother, more controlled inhale, making each puff feel more consistent and less harsh.

The cotton has also been upgraded to a nano microfibre material, which absorbs and holds e-liquid more efficiently. This improves wicking, reduces dry hits, and keeps flavour consistent for longer. On top of that, COREX 3.0 uses improved high temperature resistant materials, helping extend coil lifespan and maintain performance over time.
In real use, the difference is noticeable. Flavour is cleaner and more detailed, the draw feels smoother, and the pods last longer before dropping off. It’s not just a small tweak. It feels like a finished version of what COREX 2.0 was aiming for.
Importantly, COREX 3.0 keeps full compatibility with the XROS platform. It’s available in the same resistance range, from 0.4Ω to 1.2Ω, and supports both MTL and RDL vaping styles. That means you can upgrade instantly without changing your device or setup.
The verdict is simple. COREX 2.0 still works, but COREX 3.0 improves everything that matters. Better flavour, smoother airflow, and longer lasting performance with zero downside.
